10 GB mailbox
- 25 GB "SkyDrive" (for storing documents)
- access to Office Live Workspace (online Word, Excel, etc. for collaborating on documents)
- other tools (instant messaging, blogs, mobile services, etc
When did CC alumni email accounts move to Microsoft?
Existing alumni email accounts were moved to Microsoft’s Live@Edu service on June 1, 2010.
Why did my email account move?
Previously, we contracted with a vendor that provided our online community and offered forwarded email service. A change in online community vendors allowed us to contract with Microsoft to offer free, full email functionality to our alumni community.
How do I access my alumni email account?
Log into http://www.live.com using the following ID and password:
Windows Live ID: (enter your @alumni.coloradocollege.edu email address)
Password: (this was sent to you in a separate email message)
The first time you log in, you’ll be prompted to change your password. You'll also be asked to identify the language you wish to use, and your time zone. After doing so, click "Mail" at the top of the Live@Edu logon page.
What happened to my existing forwarding instructions?
Current forwarding instructions moved with your mailbox – you need do nothing to continue the forwarding.
How can I change the forwarding instructions?
- Click on Options (upper right portion of the screen)
- Select "Organize E-Mail"
- Highlight "Redirect to alternative mail" under Inbox Rules
- Click the X to delete the existing forwarding instructions
Should I change anything else besides the forwarding instructions?
We created a rule for all Live@Edu mailboxes to delete messages after forwarding. You can remove this rule in the same manner as changing the forwarding instructions above (click on Details for the Redirect rule and follow the instructions to remove the delete part of the rule). The Deleted folder is never emptied automatically, so you'll want to manage that folder accordingly.
